My mantra for healthy living is, Strive for Progress Not Perfection.
I would be elated if The Kid ate every deliciously healthy meal I prepared but the truth is, his go to is Ramen Noodles. If I’m not home to make dinner and it’s guys night, take a guess….Spam, Mac and Cheese from a box, canned soup. Healthy living? And for myself? Well….I love cake, salty, crunchy snacks and spirited handcrafted cocktails. And that’s okay, sometimes the “imperfect” choice is just the right choice for that moment.
I like to roll it into other activities such as gardening and walking my dog. My bicycle is outfitted with a basket so when I just need a couple of things at the market I bike there. Three time a week I do Bikram Yoga. Healthy living indeed!
The Kid doesn’t have a problem keeping active as he loves participating in team sports such as lacrosse and football.
The Groom with a Broom on the other hand finds it a challenge. Working indoors forty hours a week is challenging in itself! He schedules time at the gym during his workday and has committed to a cleaner way of eating. Together, we’ve begun running one day on the weekend.
